ruminations documents a fragmented truth within damaged recollections. It is a conversation between the past and present. It is a cultivation of my personal archive and employs the moving image to catalyse an entity that exists outside of the frame. Using CRT monitors and found footage to convey a sense of nostalgia, the film emulates feelings of a half-remembered dream. Overlayed visuals and manipulated footage emerge as an autobiographical piece whilst revealing subjects hidden behind reality. The monitors occupying the dark space articulate a haunting experience as I investigate my sense of self and the ruptures within my subconscious.
