Succulents are known to attract positive energy to a garden. They are low maintenance plants that require little attention, storing water in their leaves and stems. They symbolise luck, success, enduring and timeless love. Succulents change colour due to stress and three factors including water, sunlight, and temperature. These plants have become a part of my life in the past year, showcasing their colours all year round in the garden.

 

My work represents my interest in succulents and the different colours they can produce. Their colours can be bright and bold, or pastel and cool. Changing colour every season makes them unique compared to other plants. Their symbol makes each succulent unique, each painting represents an event that has occurred in my life, whether it is success, luck, bravery, love or healing.
