This photography series focuses on the ideas and themes of Ecofeminism. It showcases the connection between feminist issues and environmental struggles. In order to produce this series, I spoke to the females in my life and discovered some of the issues we face in society. I found that many of these conversations touched on how women are sometimes treated like ‘trash’ and feel suffocated in our own society. I aimed to tie this personal connection into my series and to bring awareness to these issues. The beach and botanic gardens are especially important to me and the females around me, as it is where we go to get away from society and just be ourselves. We see how the environment is treated, specifically how trash is left lying around causing major issues. This specific connection to how we feel society treats women, and how the environment is poorly treated, was a major focus in this photography series.
