Humans are always creating connections with each other. Whether big or small, past or present, these connections bind us together, build relationships, communities and societies. Yet they possess no obvious physical form of their own; interpersonal connections are in a sense invisible. Time in silence, is a large oil painting that explores what these connections might look like. The composition is constructed from long, textural forms, that float across the canvas like fabric. Like our connections to each other, the forms are infinite and entangled, twisted and expanding. These forms give shape to these unseeable connections, it’s as if there are people at either end of them and these threads are the connections they share. I intend for this work to provide space for the viewer to ponder the web of connections that have shaped their own life.
